Hampton & Richmond Borough defender Dean Inman will have to wait for his trial at QPR because of an ankle injury.
Inman, 20, has been watched by a number of clubs and impressed during pre-season friendly against the R’s, who invited him to spend a week training with them.
But he has been sidelined since and is still two week away from being fit to play.
“Obviously he needs to get himself fit again,” Borough boss Mark Harper told West London Sport.
“He needs to get a couple of games under his belt and then QPR will hopefully get in touch and take him for a trial, which they’ve guaranteed the lad.”
Harper expects Inman to stay with the Beavers for “the foreseeable future” but also insists that if the player leaves he will go with the club’s blessing.
“We’ll never stop in the kid’s way. If the opportunity is there for him it will only benefit him as a player and benefit the club,” he said.
Inman signed a new one-year contract in June and in his three seasons has made over 70 appearances for Borough.
