Ian Holloway believes Sean Goss can fulfil his potential at QPR following his move from Manchester United.
Goss, 21, has asked to wear Rangers’ number 10 shirt, previously worn by club legends Stan Bowles and Rodney Marsh, as well as the likes of Simon Stainrod, John Byrne, Roy Wegerle and Adel Taarabt.
The midfielder left Old Trafford without making a first-team appearance for United, who signed him from Exeter City in 2012.
“I think Sean will blossom here,” said Rangers manager Holloway, who could give Goss his senior debut in Wednesday’s match at Newcastle.
“He’s going to take the number 10 shirt, which I think is a brave decision for him.
“We need a new Stan Bowles somewhere along the line. We need new heroes here and I know we’re going to get them – we’re going to mould them.”
Meanwhile, Holloway is interested in signing Fulham target man Matt Smith.
