Darnell Furlong has been included in QPR’s squad for Saturday’s game at Blackburn.
The defender, who suffered knee injury during pre-season, recently returned to action for Rangers’ development side.
He is now in contention for a first-team comeback, although he is likely to have to wait for a place in boss Steve McClaren’s team.
Rangers have won their last three matches, all without conceding a goal, and are unbeaten in five.
Angel Rangel has been excellent at right-back since being brought in as cover following the injury to Furlong, who can also play at centre-back.
While Furlong has been passed fit to rejoin the squad, Rangers were on Friday afternoon assessing Geoff Cameron to see if he too would be included for the trip north.
Cameron, on loan from Stoke, has been nursing hamstring injury he picked up during QPR’s recent win over Aston Villa.
