Former QPR boss Anderson dies

Stan Anderson has died at the age of 85.

Anderson was assistant manager at QPR and had a brief spell as boss in 1974.

He was installed following the departure of Gordon Jago and replaced by Dave Sexton.

A wing-half, Anderson played twice for England and was part of the squad for the 1962 World Cup in Chile.

He captained Sunderland, Newcastle and Middlesbrough during his distinguished playing career.
