Chris Ramsey has confirmed that Yun Suk-Young is close to returning for QPR.
The left-back missed Rangers’ entire pre-season campaign but has recently made very good progress in his recovery from a knee problem.
Rangers believe he will soon be available for first-team selection – and considered picking him for development-side match against Brentford on Monday.
Yun did not feature in the game, and youngster Cole Kpekawa is set to play in this evening’s League Cup match against Carlisle, but head coach Ramsey said: “Yun is close – he is close to coming back and we’re looking forward to him being back.”
Ramsey, who previously expressed concern about his shortage of options at left-back, added: “Cole will play [against Carlisle] and will be trying to fight his way into the squad generally.
“Yun’s now going to be there too and we’ve got Paul Konchesky, so that’s good for us.”
However, Armand Traore remains sidelined with a knee problem despite previous optimism that he too was close to return.
