Redknapp: I’m under no pressure at QPR

QPR boss Harry Redknapp has insisted he does not feel under pressure – and joked that his underperforming team would “kick the hell” out of Liverpool at Loftus Road on Sunday.

Rangers are bottom of the table following a dismal start to life back in the Premier League and Redknapp’s position is under scrutiny.

But the former Tottenham manager dismissed speculation about his future and said he is “not bothered” about not signing a new contract he claimed he could have signed weeks ago.

Redknapp said: “I’m not under pressure, none whatsoever. I’m looking forward to the game on Sunday.

“We have played seven games. We are seven games into a Premier League season.

“We have played three home games. We got beaten by Hull 1-0 and missed a penalty, we beat Sunderland and drew with Stoke in a tough game – it’s not easy.

“I don’t need assurances from anybody. The impasse over my contract is that I wasn’t bothered about signing a new contract, not in the slightest.

“What is a contract? A contract is you work for a club. If they don’t want you, you talk to the chairman, sort out what you’re doing and you move on.”

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Redknapp was also reminded that his team have committed the fewest fouls and picked up the fewest yellow cards in the top flight this term.

He quipped: “We’re going to kick hell out of them on Sunday! We’ll steam right into this Liverpool and give them what-for.”
