Tjaronn Chery has been given QPR’s number 10 shirt for the coming season.
The Dutchman scored 10 goals last term following his move from FC Groningen.
Rangers’ number 10 shirt, worn by Leroy Fer last season, is an important symbol for many fans as it was previously worn by club legends Rodney Marsh and Stan Bowles, as well as popular flair players Simon Stainrod, John Byrne, Roy Wegerle and Adel Taarabt.
Meanwhile, a number of QPR youngsters have been allocated squad numbers for the new season, including winger Olamide Shodipo, defender Osman Kakay and French forward Axel Prohouly.
Manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink recently told West London Sport that Shodipo would not be sent out on loan and was likely to feature for the first team.
Summer signings Jake Bidwell, Joel Lynch, Ariel Borysiuk and Jordan Cousins have been allocated numbers 3, 6, 7 and 8 respectively.
Midfielders Sandro and Daniel Tozser have also been given squad numbers despite neither player being in Hasselbaink plans.
