Morrison hailed for his impact at QPR

QPR midfielder Jermaine Jenas has hailed Ravel Morrison for his contribution since arriving on loan from West Ham.

Morrison, who fell out of favour at Upton Park, made his R’s debut in the recent defeat at Charlton and featured in Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Leeds.

“I thought he was exceptional against Charlton – he was the difference on the pitch,” said Jenas.

“Against Leeds his productivity [was good], especially in the second half. He’s so dangerous when he turns and can run at players.

“Leeds are a physical side and they’re obviously aware of Ravel’s ability, so they are going to do whatever they can to nullify that.”

Morrison’s attitude was questioned by the then Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson when the player was at Old Trafford.

And having initially made a big impact at West Ham he became a peripheral figure under boss Sam Allardyce, so eyebrows were raised when Rangers signed him on loan.

But Jenas said: “All we can do is base [our thoughts] on what he is doing at QPR, and he’s been exceptional on the training ground. He’s professional and has a positive attitude.

“He was at Man United and he had to leave, he was at West Ham and he had to leave, but those reasons are beyond us. All we can do is try to get the best out of Ravel.”
