Stevenage sign QPR’s Lumley on loan after Joronen’s call-up
Stevenage Borough have signed goalkeeper Joe Lumley on loan from QPR following Jesse Joronen’s international call-up.
Lumley, 20, has joined the League Two club on a 28-day deal and is available to make his debut against Dagenhan & Redbridge this evening.
He has been signed after Joronen (pictured above), who has been on loan at Stevenage from Fulham, was included in the Finland squad for matches against Romania and Northern Ireland.
Former QPR keeper Chris Day had been expected to play in tonight’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy game in Joronen’s absence.
Day, now 40, made 100 appearances for Rangers in a four-year spell at Loftus Road, during which he helped the club reach the 2003 Division Two play-off final and win promotion the following season.
Meanwhile, winger Jake Mulraney, 19, has joined Dagenham from QPR on a month’s loan and could also play this evening.
