Mainz coach Christian Heidel has told German media that QPR are “very likely” to sign Sebastian Polter from the Bundesliga club.
Polter, 24, is one of a number of forwards Rangers have been considering as a possible signing ahead of the new season.
A former Germany Under-21 international, he spent last term on loan at second-tier outfit Union Berlin after falling out of favour at Mainz.
He was on Werder Bremen’s books as a youngster and has played for Wolfsburg.
