QPR knocked back by Spurs in bid to land Pritchard

Tottenham have told QPR they want £8m to sell Alex Pritchard and are reluctant to let him leave on loan.

Rangers were willing to pay significantly less in order to sign the 23-year-old and were knocked back by Spurs.

They are now among several Championship sides hoping to take Pritchard on loan if the north London club are unable to find a buyer.

QPR want a loan deal with a view to an eventual permanent transfer, but they are looking at other targets given Tottenham’s current demands and the number of other clubs chasing the player.

They are more optimistic of completing a deal to sign Iceland forward Jon Dadi Bodvarsson from Kaiserslautern before next weekend’s Championship opener against Leeds United.

An offer of around £1m has been made for the 24-year-old, who featured in all five of Iceland’s matches at this summer’s European Championship and scored in their 2-1 victory over Austria.
