Italian defender Marco Motta is due to feature for QPR’s Under-21 side in a friendly against Reading on Tuesday.
Right-back Motta arrived on trial last week and played in friendly – also against Reading.
Rangers are keen to take a longer look at the 29-year-old, who has been without a club since being released by Watford during the summer.
He made nine Championship appearances for Watford last season and was a team-mate of Daniel Tozser and Gabriele Angella, who have since joined the R’s.
QPR are looking for cover at right-back, where they have been short of options this season and currently have Nedum Onuoha playing there in the absence of the injured James Perch.
