QPR have rejected an initial approach from Italian club Torino for Adel Taarabt.
The 25-year-old has been out of favour at Loftus Road and available for a move for some time – and is desperate to return to Italy after ending last season on loan at AC Milan.
Despite reports they were keen to sign him on a permanent deal, Milan declined to make an offer and his representatives have since been trying to drum up interest among other Serie A clubs.
Torino have made an enquiry and are considering their response after being told that Rangers, who wanted £6m for Taarabt last summer, are still looking for a significant transfer fee and are reluctant to let him leave on loan again.
Earlier this season he was involved in an extraordinary public fall-out with QPR manager Harry Redknapp, who accused him of being overweight and suggested the player had refused to train.
Since recovering from injury he has been recalled to the Rangers squad and has featured in their last two matches but remains keen to leave the club.
