Karl Henry is expected to sign a new QPR contract early this week.
The midfielder is now out of contract and his previous deal, which recently expired, gave him the option of further 12 months.
He joined the rest of the Rangers squad when they reported back for training last week and is expected to put pen to paper before they depart for a pre-season trip to Italy.
Henry, 32, featured in the Premier League 33 times last season and won praise for his performances from former boss Harry Redknapp – who tried to offload him to Norwich in exchange for Leroy Fer a year ago.
He has made a total of 64 appearances for Rangers since being signed on free transfer from Wolves in 2013.
