QPR’s Traore nursing new injury
Armand Traore is nursing another injury.
Traore, who missed QPR’s entire pre-season because of a knee injury, recently returned to action in an Under-21 game.
However, he has since complained of a calf problem and was not included in the side for another Under-21 fixture this week.
“Armand tweaked his calf and it [leaving him out] is just precautionary really,” head coach Chris Ramsey explained.
“He’s had a long-term injury so the last thing we want to do is move him forward too quickly and get him in a situation where he’s not ready for the rest of the season.”
Fitness problems have been an almost constant issue for Traore, 25, since his move to Loftus Road from Arsenal four years ago and he has made only 64 league starts for the club.
He was made available on a free transfer during the summer transfer window along with Junior Hoilett.
Meanwhile, Yun Suk-Young is “probably still a couple of weeks away” from a first-team return, according to Ramsey.
The South Korean left-back has recently featured in reserve-team and Under-21 matches, having also missed pre-season with a knee injury.
