Bidwell and Lynch back for QPR

QPR: Jake Bidwell
Recent signings Jake Bidwell and Joel Lynch are in the QPR squad for tonight’s pre-season friendly at Burton.

Both players have missed recent friendlies, with Bidwell nursing a knock and Lynch a hamstring strain.

They returned to full training last week and are expected to feature against boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s former club.

Hasselbaink sees left-back Bidwell, signed from Brentford earlier this month, as a key player for the coming season.

The Dutchman also wanted a left-sided central defender to replace Clint Hill, so Lynch was brought in from Huddersfield Town.

But Rangers currently have a number of options at centre-back, with Grant Hall and skipper Nedum Onuoha vying for places and Steven Caulker still at the club.

Staying put

A number of Premier League clubs are monitoring Caulker’s situation and sent scouts to watch him in QPR’s friendly at Wycombe on Friday.

However, Rangers have not received an approach for the 24-year-old since Crystal Palace expressed an interest in May.

Hasselbaink has insisted that he wants Caulker, who had loan spells at Southampton and Liverpool last season, to stay at Loftus Road.

The club are looking to reduce their wage bill and would prefer to offload Sandro, but the Brazilian midfielder appears no closer to moving on.

Sandro failed a medical at Sporting Lisbon last month and some recent interest from Russian club Rubin Kazan appears to have come to nothing.
