Rangers striker Austin poised to return
Charlie Austin looks likely to return to action in QPR’s game at Bournemouth on Saturday.
Rangers’ top scorer, sidelined since January with a shoulder injury, is set to be included in the squad for the trip to the south coast.
And manager Harry Redknapp believes Austin will play at least some part in the match at Dean Court, where a victory could see his team close the gap on second-placed Burnley.
Redknapp said: “He trained this week and will travel with us. There’s every chance he will play.
“We don’t want to push him too quickly, so we’ll see how he feels. He’s worked all of this week and most of last week. It’s a big boost for us as he was great before the injury.”
Meanwhile, Jermaine Jenas has been passed fit following a hamstring problem but Aaron Hughes has been ruled out with a similar injury, while Joey Barton and Nedum Onuoha are likely to miss the game.
Barton is still struggling with a thigh problem and Onuoha has a calf strain.
