QPR are hopeful Joey Barton will be able to return to action for Saturday’s game against Burnley.
Barton has missed the last two matches after limping off with a thigh injury during the recent win against Ipswich.
His return would be a major boost for Rangers, who also expect to keep on-loan Tottenham midfielder Tom Carroll for the rest of the campaign.
Spurs’ technical director Franco Baldini watched Carroll in action against Bolton on Tuesday night at Loftus Road, where goals from Charlie Austin and Karl Henry gave the home side a fourth consecutive league win.
A clause in Carroll’s season-long loan deal gives Tottenham the option of recalling him to White Hart Lane this month.
Rangers are awaiting a final decision from the north London club but believe Carroll will be allowed to stay.
