Charlie Austin is expected to be available for QPR’s game against Cardiff on Saturday but Jamie Mackie is likely to miss out because of a groin problem.
Mackie’s condition is currently being assessed and Rangers are optimistic he will soon be able to return.
There has been much speculation over the future of striker Austin, who had minor injury during pre-season and was substituted during the opening-day defeat at Charlton.
But he trained on Friday and is in line for a return to Chris Ramsey’s squad.
“Charlie had a slight tweak in the game against Charlton so we took him off. He’s available for tomorrow,” head coach Ramsey confirmed.
“We’re probably going to be missing Jamie. He’s got a slight groin strain. Hopefully it won’t keep him out for too long.”
Rangers are still without Leroy Fer, Yun Suk-Young and Armand Traore, who are all recovering from knee injuries.
