QPR boss Harry Redknapp has hailed Southampton for their superb start to the season.
The former Saints and Portsmouth manager is sure to receive a hostile reception from the home fans when his side visit St Mary’s on Saturday.
Those fans have been enjoying some excellent performances from their team, who are second in the table despite being tipped by many to struggle after the sale of a number of star players and the departure of manager Mauricio Pochettino to Tottenham.
Redknapp said: “They’ve been fantastic. They’ve done amazing. You thought that was the end of Southampton when they sold all those players but they’ve done amazing under Ronald Koeman.
“I’ve been very surprised by just how well they’ve done. They keep producing good players – a conveyor belt of kids – and they’ve bought well.
“They’re a powerful outfit again, are playing some great stuff and looking the real deal. They’ve done great so far.”
