Niko Kranjcar says he remains determined to complete a permanent move to QPR this summer.
The Croatia international is on a season-long loan from Dynamo Kiev and previously made it clear he wanted to move to Loftus Road on permanent basis in the summer if Rangers are promoted back to the Premier League.
And Kranjcar is confident they will be in the top flight next season despite back-to-back defeats leaving them fourth, four points behind second-placed Burnley.
“We have a game in hand and with the players we have we can do it,” he said.
“I said from the day I arrived that I would like to stay. I’m happy here. It’s a good club with a good manager and fans – it’s a very good place to be at.
“You also have an owner who gives everything to his club and the players. Everything is in place and QPR is where I want to be.
“It’s up to us to get the club where it deserves to be, which is the Premier League, and I believe we can do that.”
Recent results have left Rangers facing the prospect of missing out on the top two unless their form improves during the run-in.
But Kranjcar insists it would ‘not be a disaster’ if they end up in the play-offs, by which time sidelined duo Charlie Austin and Matt Phillips could be available again.
“It would be a disaster not to go up,” he said. “Getting promotion is the club’s aim and has been mine since the day I arrived here.
“Obviously you want to go up automatically but if we were to win the play-offs that would be fantastic – a great day for the club – but nobody wants to take that chance.
“The aim is automatic promotion and we still believe we can achieve that. There are enough games and enough points to play for and the squad is good enough.
“If we were to get promoted in the play-offs it would still be a great achievement, but we are still in a position where we can get automatic promotion.”
Kranjcar admitted: “Charlie has been scoring goals for us and Matt had also been in really good form, and when you’re without two players like that it’s always going to be more difficult.
“But we still have other good players and an experienced squad. We just need to go on a run and lift ourselves up the table, which I still believe we can do.”
