QPR Under-21 boss Steve Gallen says Les Ferdinand has been “brilliant” since the former Rangers striker’s appointment as head of football operations at Loftus Road.
Ferdinand’s role involves overseeing Rangers’ youth system, meaning he has been working closely with Gallen since being brought in by chairman Tony Fernandes.
“Les has been brilliant so far, he is Rangers through and through – a proper Rangers man,” Gallen said.
“The fans love him here and having people like that at the club can only be beneficial.
“He watches our Under-21 games along with Glenn Hoddle and is good to the players. He is great to have around the place.
“He knows when to joke and when to play it serious, the players get on with him great.
“I think you need to have people at the club like Les that understand it here. It can only be a good thing.”
