Rangers confident Onuoha will face Villa
QPR are confident defender Nedum Onuoha will recover from a hamstring strain in time for Monday’s game against Aston Villa.
Onuoha was substituted at half-time during the defeat against Liverpool on Sunday, prompting fears he could be set for another spell on the sidelines – he missed part of last season with a hamstring injury.
But the problem does not appear to be serious and Onuoha is due to be assessed on Thursday to see if he is likely to be available for the Villa game.
He was recently recalled by under-pressure boss Harry Redknapp in an attempt to plug Rangers’ leaky defence following a dismal start to the season.
Rangers have also had problems in midfield as Joey Barton and Jordon Mutch have both been out with hamstring trouble and Sandro suffered another injury at the weekend.
Sandro has been nursing knee problem, went off after suffering an early knock to the head in the recent defeat at Southampton and was having an excellent game before going off with a groin injury against Liverpool.
