QPR’s Grego-Cox out of Irish Under-21 games

QPR forward Reece Grego-Cox has been ruled out of the Republic of Ireland Under-21s’ matches against Lithuania and Italy after suffering a facial injury in training.

Grego-Cox, who has made five first-team appearances for the R’s, has been replaced in the squad by Tottenham’s Kenny McEvoy.

“Injuries are part and parcel of international football,” said Irish Under-21 head coach Noel King.

Grego-Cox, 20, told West London Sport in August he was keen to leave QPR on loan in order to gain more first-team experience.
