Hasselbaink says QPR are in a ‘cycle’ of bad decisions
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink says QPR have been trapped in a “cycle” of incorrect refereeing decisions.
Rangers had a goal disallowed during Friday’s 3-2 defeat against Middlesbrough, with replays indicating that the ball did not cross the line before Junior Hoilett teed up Sebastian Polter, who tapped into the net.
It followed a controversial decision in the recent 1-1 draw at Preston, where Tom Clarke escaped with just a yellow card after bringing down QPR’s Tjaronn Chery, who would have been through on goal.
“I go several weeks back, and it’s every game I’m not getting the rub of the green,” said Rangers boss Hasselbaink.
“I’ve not complained. But we have all seen that it was a perfect, normal goal. That’s the cycle we are in.
“In the game against Preston there was a blatant red card and the player gets a yellow. The week before it was something else and the week before something else.
“It’s only us that can get ourselves out of that cycle by keeping on going, keep on doing the right thing and hopefully eventually the referees will see and may give us the right decisions.”
Rangers face Leeds United at Elland Road on Tuesday, when they will be looking for only their second away win of 2016.
Hasselbaink, who had a two-year spell at Leeds as a player, said: “I could have a go at referees, but I look at our players and say ‘boys, we’ve got to keep on going and it will turn’.”
