QPR Under-21 boss Steve Gallen hopes Michael Petrasso can give manager Harry Redknapp food for thought while on loan at Coventry.
Petrasso, 18, joined the Sky Blues last week after previously completing a successful spell at Oldham.
And Gallen believes that with more league experience, Petrasso may be able to force his way into Redknapp’s first-team squad at Rangers before the season is out.
“He is one of the ones that I am looking at and thinking he could force his way in,” said Gallen.
“He’s really young and has a lot to learn – he’s only 18 still. But he has that pace and directness that’s exciting to watch.
“What I really want is for him to get more league games under his belt whilst on loan at Coventry.
“If you throw a young lad into the first team now and it doesn’t work out for them, then you could lose them mentally for a while.
“Maybe, if he gets some more experience on loan, we can get him back in the middle of March and he will be somewhere around the first-team squad.”
