Gallen feared Petrasso would leave QPR
QPR Under-21 boss Steve Gallen has admitted he feared Michael Petrasso might leave the club before the winger recently signed a new contract at Loftus Road.
Canadian Petrasso, 18, is yet to make a senior appearance for Rangers but has impressed during loan spells at Coventry and Oldham.
“We were in a position a few weeks ago when it looked like Mikey was going to leave,” said Gallen.
“A few clubs were interested in him and he could have easily gone. It really was up in the air.
“He signed a new deal in the end and it wasn’t because of money – he could have made more elsewhere.”
Petrasso is set to feature for Gallen’s side against Crewe in the Professional Development League Two play-off final at Loftus Road this evening.
Kick-off is at 7pm and admission is by a minimum £1 donation to the QPR in the Community Trust.
