Diakite plays in Under-21 game

Samba Diakite featured for QPR’s development side in a match against Sheffield Wednesday.

Young left-back Cole Kpekawa also played in Monday evening’s game at Loftus Road, where Joseph N’Guessan, Romeo Akinola and Leon Lobjoit scored in a 3-2 win for the home side.

Wednesday led at half-time through Luke Booker’s goal, but QPR took control in the second half.

N’Guessan equalised after being set up by Nathan Corkery, Akinola headed Rangers into the lead and former Coventry City midfielder Lobjoit scored with a brilliant strike to make it 3-1.

George Hirst – son of former Wednesday and England striker David – pulled a goal back with a last-minute penalty after being fouled by Lobjoit.
