Mark Warburton has dismissed reports that QPR are interested in winger Josh McPake.
The 19-year-old is on loan at Harrogate Town from newly-crowned Scottish champions Rangers.
It has been claimed QPR and Bristol City have sent scouts to watch McPake and that both Championship clubs are in a race to sign him.
Restrictions imposed because of Covid-19 have in fact prevented clubs from sending scouts to matches for the best part of a year.
As West London Sport reported on Tuesday, scouts are currently only permitted to attend matches if watching a player on loan from their club, or a team their club will face in its next three fixtures.
And manager Warburton says McPake is not currently among QPR’s transfer targets.
Warburton said: “That’s one I’m unaware of. We’re linked with so many players and I’ve no idea where these rumours emanate from.
“Agents do it all the time. It’s just the nature of the game.”
