QPR boss Beale confirms he expects busy end to window
QPR boss Mick Beale has confirmed he expects a busy end to the transfer window, with incoming and outgoings likely.
West London Sport revealed on Friday morning that Beale is now looking to add players throughout the spine of the Rangers side – up front, central midfield and central defence – and that the club are interested in experienced defender Leon Balogun, with some current members of the squad potentially facing the axe.
And, speaking at a pre-match press conference on the eve of the visit to Watford, Beale said: “I’m aiming to get at least two in.
“I am planning for a busy week. I think one or two additions will do the world of good throughout the team.
“There are a number of areas we can improve throughout the team with competition. We have one or two positions where if we had an injury we would be considerably weaker.”
Beale added: “It might be good opportunity to bring in a bit of experience in the changing room. I have got one or two in mind who can do that and could be our players. I think they would immediately take us to another level.
“We are talking to numerous other clubs, their managers and agents about their players.
“But those clubs also need to do their business as well and that will change the circumstances of another player.
“That is the case here, if we get one or two things done then I have to have difficult conversations with some players about their what their next five or six months looks like.
“The quicker we get one in the quicker I can have one of those conversations. If we can’t get players in I can’t have those conversations as I can’t leave us short.”
Beale is also confident none of his best players will be sold during this window.
“At this moment all of our best players are at a price range other clubs are a little bit put off by – and that is good because I want to keep all of our best players,” he said.
“I think in this league we have one or two really good ones and we value them highly and no-one is coming in to take them off us cheaply.”
