Preston came from behind to beat QPR at Deepdale. Here’s how we rated each Rangers player in their 2-1 defeat.
Excellent for Rangers yet again. Produced a stunning save shortly before they went ahead and two more fine stops late in the game.
Competed well and was useful going forward. His long throws are an asset, with one leading to the opening goal.
Had a good game at the heart of the R’s defence, typified by a superb second-half challenge to deny Callum Robinson.
A threat in the opposition’s penalty box but unfortunately not at all convincing in his own. Was too easily beaten by Robinson on a number of occasions, almost scored an own goal, and looked vulnerable throughout.
Atoned for a positional error by recovering to make a great saving challenge to thwart Aiden McGeady in the first half. Got forward plenty but squandered a great chance for Rangers at 1-1 when he elected to pass rather than shoot when in a good position.
Worked tirelessly on the right and had some success, especially in the first half, when he had a well-struck shot saved.
Did a steady job in the absence of Grant Hall, who was nevertheless missed by Rangers.
The youngster did really well. Fiercely competitive, with a good range of passing and always willing to shoot – one effort flashed just over – he stood out in midfield.
Full of energy and enthusiasm, Freeman was having a useful game before being sent off in the second half.
His sublime goal – a back-heel after Furlong’s throw-in was flicked on by Matt Smith – was the highlight of an exciting all-round display. In for the injured Conor Washington, LuaLua linked up very well with Smith in the first half, but both faded somewhat before being taken off in the second period.
An aerial menace, causing constant problems for the home side, including when he was involved in the build up to Rangers’ goal. Lacks mobility though.
Lively after coming on but missed a great chance to equalise when he blasted over following a defensive mix-up.
Unable to make any real impact after coming on. Neither was Jamie Mackie who was later introduced as well.
