QPR target McKenna’s transfer request rejected by Aberdeen

Aberdeen have rejected a transfer request from Scott McKenna.

QPR want to sign the Scotland international, who has been pursued by several other clubs.

Derek McInnes has insisted that QPR will have to offer significantly more money if they are to sign McKenna.

Having had a £3m bid for the Scotland international rejected, the R’s offered a slightly larger initial fee plus potentially sizeable add-ons.

But it was not enough to convince Aberdeen to sell McKenna, who is reportedly also wanted by Nottingham Forest.

Dons boss McInnes said: “There was a fresh offer. I don’t know if there was a written offer from Nottingham Forest but there certainly was from QPR on Friday – but clearly it was not enough.

“It was a slight increase and it was structured in a certain way but it was not enough for the club to accept.

“It’s up to the buying club to make my chairman think differently but as it stands Scott will remain with us.”
