Transfer gossip: Southampton linked with Manning
The latest transfer speculation involving QPR….
It’s been claimed that Southampton want Ryan Manning.
The Irishman has been outstanding for QPR this season, which has inevitably led to speculation of interest from Premier League clubs.
And Football Insider claim Southampton want to sign Manning when the transfer window reopens.
Manning’s contract is due to expire at the end of the season and Football Insider reports that a Saints source has said that Manning is a January target for the south-coast club.
The website also states that Southampton “believe he can be prised away for a cut-price fee”.
QPR are looking to tie Manning to a new contract and in any case there is an option to extend his current deal, meaning he is effectively under contract until 2021.

Southampton were also recently linked with Manning’s QPR team-mate Ebere Eze.
Eze’s contract runs until 2021 but again there is an option to extend it for a further year.
