Toni Leistner’s goal – his first for QPR – gave them a deserved victory at the Madejski Stadium.
The German defender bundled the ball in following a scramble after Reading were unable to clear Luke Freeman’s 64th-minute corner.
Rangers were very much the better team, bouncing back well after three consecutive defeats.
Leistner, back in the side after recovering from a groin problem, missed a good chance for Rangers in the first half, as did Jordan Cousins and Nahki Wells.
Cousins headed over from Jake Bidwell’s cross and Leistner was unable to connect properly with Freeman’s free-kick.
Wells, who is still waiting for his first goal since his loan move from Burnley, combined nicely with Ebere Eze but the striker’s attempt to then delicately guide the ball past Sam Walker was pushed away by the Reading keeper.
Rangers rode their luck at times after going ahead.
Yakou Méïté missed two chances to equalise for Reading, shooting against the post after being set up by John Swift and later heading wide of the target.
QPR: Lumley, Rangel, Leistner, Lynch, Bidwell, Cousins (Wszolek 83), Cameron, Luongo, Freeman, Eze (Scowen 80), Wells (Hemed 74).
Subs not used: Ingram, Hall, Smith, Osayi-Samuel.

I still feel that playing Eze is like playing with 10 men, what I can't understand is why no-one else can see it,his contribution is negligible,we would be far better off dropping him and playing Hemed alongside Wells
I have a deep effection for QPR
even though I'm an Arsenal fan.
Been watching the Hoops since
I was 8 years-old.
Love em!
