Struggling QPR are beaten again
Goals from Andre Ayew and Jamal Lowe condemned QPR to another defeat and increased the pressure on Mark Warburton.
Rangers have now gone eight matches without a win and Warburton’s position as manager is under scrutiny.
There are no such problems for Swans boss Steve Cooper, whose side moved up to second in the Championship table.
Ayew put the visitors ahead in bizarre fashion a minute before half-time.
Jake Bidwell’s header from Connor Roberts’ right-wing cross appeared to be going wide but R’s defender Yoann Barbet headed the ball against the woodwork, leaving keeper Seny Dieng stranded – and Ayew with an open goal.
The frustration was too much for QPR chief executive Lee Hoos, who aimed a foul-mouthed tirade from the directors’ box at referee Steve Martin as the officials left the pitch at half-time.
Both sides had created chances during what was a fairly even first half up to Ayew’s opener.
Lowe was put through by Ayew’s pass but shot straight at Dieng, who later saved a long-range effort from Yan Dhanda.
At the other end, Ilias Chair caused problems for Swansea on the right, serving up a cross which just evaded Macauley Bonne, who also headed over after being found by Barbet’s diagonal ball from the left.
Conceding such a soft goal was a sickener for Rangers, who fell further behind after being caught on the counter-attack nine minutes into the second half.
Lowe raced on to Matt Grimes’ ball forward and slotted past Dieng – his fourth goal is as many games and sixth of the season.
Warburton had switched to two up front in an attempt to halt his team’s slump, pairing Bonne with Lyndon Dykes and dropping winger Bright Osayi-Samuel to the bench.
But Bonne failed to make an impact and missed another decent chance when he was unable to get a firm header to Rob Dickie’s cross.
And while Dykes has been a revelation for Scotland, establishing himself as their number nine since his summer move from Livingston, he has scored only once from open play for QPR and was easily contained by Swansea’s impressive defence.
QPR: Dieng, Dickie, Cameron, Barbet, Kane (Adomah 77), Ball, Carroll (Willock 77), Chair, Hamalainen (Osayi-Samuel 66), Bonne (Kelman 66), Dykes.
Subs not used: Kelly, Thomas, Masterson, Bettache, Duke-McKenna.
Time for new ideas...

The worry for me is Warb’s says he’s missing players like Wallace. REALLY? The team isn’t great, there’s not enough support for the younger players! Too many guys not doing their job well enough, after all the table doesn’t lie, and too many not good enough players at this level which for me is Warb’s real problem. Time to change tact, bring the front players in. Time to rest Dykes, time to rewrite the playbook because this simply isn’t working.

I’m sorry to say most of the comments are correct, the board must realise we are headed for div 1 unless, they act Now! bring in a manager like Nigel Pearson who will shape this miserable bunch into a team to keep us up, then he can progress to making a team worthy of mounting an assault on promotion. HOWEVER HESITATE AND WE CAN ALL LOOK TOWARDS DIV 1,Give us hope in 2021 after this disastrous year.

I struggle at times to work out who is more delusional, Mark Warburton or the idiot commentary team of Andy Sinton & Nick London ! “Dykes took up a good position” purrs Sinton, he fell over more times than any other player ! The best thing that happened was Lee Hoos watching for himself the abject failure to have a shot, have a run, make abit of space, talk to each other, win an ugly challenge. Dom Ball gets a 7 and the rest get a 2 in my book ! Poor Charlie Kelman is thrown on in a vain attempt to save Warburton’s job ! I’m 53 and can burn Dykes The Carthorse over 100 metres any day of the week !!! Dykes should give his wages to charity !!!
