Hemed unsure over his long-term future

Tomer Hemed says he is unsure what his future holds beyond the end of the season.

The striker, recently back from injury, is on a season-long loan at QPR from Brighton.

His Brighton contract expires this summer but the south-coast club have an option to extend the deal.

“It’s still too early for me. My head is only here in QPR and I will try my best to finish with the team well,” said the Israel international.

“At the end of the season, we know the situation, I have to go back to Brighton and then obviously see with the club what the plans are for the future.”

Hemed’s two-month lay-off has contributed to him managing just 10 league starts and four goals since his move to Loftus Road.

However, the 32-year-old is regarded as an asset off the pitch as well as on it.

“I came here to help the team, first of all with goals, and as well for my experience, and I will help as much as I can in any way that I can,” he explained.

“Sometimes it’s just to give confidence, to speak with the players, and on the pitch to be the one to lead from the front.”
