QPR ended their wait for a win – and a clean sheet – by beating Preston. Here’s how we rated each Rangers player in the 2-0 victory.
Showed some good handling under pressure from the occasional Preston high ball. Was kept busy as the visitors pressed with more intent in the second half. Pulled off a top0class save from a fierce shot by Billy Bodin.
Regularly alert to danger from crosses, particularly as North End became more desperate after going 2-0 down. Impressive when put under pressure.
Kept things tidy as QPR aimed to grab a rare clean sheet.
Made good interceptions to halt Preston trying to cause alarm in their chase for an equaliser. Did well to reduce the threat posed by opposition attacker Sean Maguire.
Solid as always and forged a good understanding with Leistner when the R’s found themselves under pressure. Not his most dynamic display but solid nevertheless.
Set up the goal for Eze in the 17th minute with a superbly-weighted, chipped pass to catch the North End defence off guard. Waned a little after the break.
Showed some real pace and energy on the right early on to cause Preston left-back Andrew Hughes some problems. Another who lost a bit of impetus in the second half.
Brought down by Preston keeper Declan Rudd for the 67th-minutes penalty.Had a decent game.
Took his goal well, albeit having the good fortune to get a second opportunity after his initial shot was parried by Rudd. Helped drive the R’s forward at times and brought out a fine stop by Rudd in the 53rd minute from a raking shot. Added a penalty to double the lead with customary calm. QPR’s stand-out player again.
Blazed a shot over from the edge of the penalty area at the end of the first half when he should have tested Rudd. Missed another good chance from distance late on.
A quiet afternoon overall for the forward. Struggled to threaten Preston with his customary pace. Eventually replaced by Josh Scowen as QPR sought to consolidate their lead.
Came on for Wells in the 67th minute immediately after Eze’s spot-kick goal for the second. Worked hard against Preston skipper Alan Browne.

Just as I thought, lowish ratings all round, no player was worth LESS than 8 (its a team game, right?), Lumley should have got a 10 (that save alone was worth that on its own). Dont know about a Fulham supporter - more like a blind one.
Who are these 'supporters' slagging off Lumley after yesterdays performance? - idiots methinks.
Need to sort out the editor!! Clean sheet but first paragraph states "QPR ended their wait for a win – and a clean sheet – by beating Preston. Here’s how we rated each Rangers player in the 2-1 victory." Must be a Fulham supporter.
