QPR v MK Dons player ratings
QPR’s dismal record in the FA Cup continued with a 1-0 defeat at home to MK Dons of League One. Here’s how we rated each Rangers player.
Alex Smithies: 6
Had little chance for the goal. Aside from a deflected shot which hit the post in the first half, he was hardly troubled before Rangers went behind.
Nedum Onuoha: 6

Comfortable against an inexperienced MK Dons attack.
Jack Robinson: 7
Another impressive display, the highlight of which was a great tackle and surge forward in the first half. Missed a decent chance in the second, though, when he fired over from inside the box.
Jordan Cousins: 5
Ineffective before being replaced by Pawel Wszolek at half-time.
Josh Scowen: 5
His overall display was OK, but Scowen has to be given a low mark because his horrendous error led to the goal. Having chased Grant Hall’s misplaced pass and nudged it away from the right-hand touchline in order to keep it in play, he sent Ousseynou Cisse through to score.
Ilias Chair: 6
His inexperience showed at times, but the youngster worked hard before going off in the second half.
Luke Freeman: 7
Rangers’ stand-out player, whose poise on the ball provided some respite from his team’s mainly route-one approach. Served up a number of dangerous deliveries into the box towards Smith, who was unable to take advantage.
Jake Bidwell: 6
Steady as always on the left. Produced a cracking challenge to rob Callum Brittain and almost create an opening in the first half.
Paul Smyth: 6

Rangers’ matchwinner against Cardiff found the going tough this time, but again he was lively.
Matt Smith: 5
Failed to connect with a first-half Freeman cross and generally had a day to forget in front of goal. Remains unconvincing when he starts games.
Grant Hall: 5
Played most of the game, having replaced the injured Alex Baptiste early on. He was neat and tidy apart from the one sloppy pass which led to the goal. In a sense he was unlucky, because like the rest of the stadium he couldn’t have envisaged what Scowen did in response.
Pawel Wszolek: 7
Had much more of an impact on the right than Cousins did.
Eberechi Eze: 6
Eager to impress after replacing Chair just after the hour mark but was crowded out as the visitors defended in numbers.
