He has a year remaining on his Oxford contract and is expected to move after impressing in League One.
His representatives have been trying to drum up interest among Premier League clubs.
And he has been duly linked with a move to the top flight, with The Sun on Sunday claiming that Newcastle are ready to snap him up.
QPR have identified a number of possible alternative signings, including Northampton’s Charlie Goode.
There continues to be speculation over the future of QPR star Ebere Eze.
Crystal Palace and West Ham are so far the only clubs to have made approaches for Eze but several others have been linked with him, including Newcastle, Tottenham and Arsenal.
And the Daily Mirror say Leeds are looking to sign Eze following their promotion to the Premier League.
