QPR gave it their all but bowed out of the FA Cup against Watford. Here’s how we rated each Rangers player in the fifth-round clash at Loftus Road.
Aside from Etienne Capoue’s goal, which he could do little to prevent, Lumley was rarely called into action during the 90 minutes. However, his kicking and general distribution could have been better at times.
Furlong looked calm and unruffled, epitomised by his delicate chipped clearance over the head of Ken Sema in the first half – and so nearly claimed a late assist by setting up Toni Leistner’s chance.
The captain set the tone with an early crunching tackle on Andre Gray and generally read the game well – but missed Rangers’ best opportunity, sliding in at the far post to put Furlong’s cross wide.
Along with his defensive colleagues, Hall showed plenty of composure and tackled strongly before being withdrawn in favour of Bright Osayi-Samuel as Rangers chased an equaliser late in the game.
While Wszolek worked his way into good positions throughout the night, the killer cross eluded him – although he put in some good defensive work when Watford threatened on the counter-attack.
Cousins was clearly up for this game. He showed for the ball, raced into tackles and oozed confidence, almost playing Luke Freeman through just after Capoue’s goal.
The Australian produced an authoritative display in midfield, pulling the strings to create openings, and deft control almost brought him a first-half goal with a volley that flew fractionally off target.
Showcasing his skill on the ball, there were some eye-catching moments from Freeman, whose counter-attacking burst and dinked pass teed up one of the best chances of the game for Nahki Wells.
Although Bidwell delivered a couple of great crosses that didn’t quite fall for Matt Smith, he looked uncomfortable defensively at times, on one occasion allowing Will Hughes to get past him after attempting to run the ball out.
Sporting a headband after an early clash with Miguel Britos, the centre-forward was unafraid to put his head in where it hurt, but his only shot on target was charged down by Christian Kabasele.
While Wells was barely in the game at times, two of Rangers’ three best opportunities fell his way and he could not make the most of them, miscuing one at Heurelho Gomes and steering the other wide.

I see a Watford player has made a prat of himself (again) with his comments, he really must put brain before mouth. Egotistic idiot!
