QPR produced one of their worst performances of the season as they slumped to a 4-1 defeat at home to Preston. Here’s how we rated each Rangers player.
Left exposed for all four Preston goals but did little to improve confidence in his fragile defence with some questionable decision-making when dealing with high balls.
Had a decent game at right-back. Defended well and was unlucky not to equalise when his second-half header hit the bar.
Given a torrid time at the centre of Rangers’ defence, where he was unable to cope with Preston’s movement.
Also struggled on a bad day for the R’s and was lucky to escape with a yellow card for a wild challenge in stoppage time.
Did the basics well enough and delivered the ball in to Matt Smith for Rangers’ goal.
Tried hard to make things happen on the right but had no real impact.
His horrendous error, losing the ball near the edge of his own penalty area, gifted Preston the opening goal and QPR never recovered. Scowen was always second best in midfield, where Rangers badly missed Massimo Luongo.
Also very poor – and hooked at half-time in order to make way for Smith.
Well short of his best, but still created a couple of opportunities with good deliveries into the box, including when his corner led to Furlong hitting the woodwork.
Anonymous for most of the game against a rugged Preston side that did a good job of keeping him quiet.
Worked hard up front but endured a frustrating afternoon. Had a couple of attempts on goal before and after Smith’s introduction gave him some support up front.
Made an impact after coming on, bothering Preston’s defence and scoring with a header. But Rangers’ shortcomings at the other end of the pitch meant a comeback rarely looked likely.
