QPR’s decent run was halted by Norwich, who won 1-0 at Loftus Road. Here’s how we rated each Rangers player in Saturday’s defeat.
Made several routine saves and covered the ground well to head the ball away from the advancing Todd Cantwell as Norwich threatened. QPR’s keeper could do nothing about the Norwich goal.
Brought in for the injured Angel Rangel, Baptiste was unable to replicate the same form as his counterpart. A tough evening for the experienced defender, who was regularly threatened by Cantwell, among others.
The big German was – alongside his defensive partner – one of QPR’s standout performers. Not a lot made it past him and he contained Norwich’s forwards.
Another solid display from Lynch, who used his strength wisely and covered the ground well.
With seemingly endless energy, Bidwell ran up and down the left flank to provide support in a variety of important areas. He was also unlucky to see a second-half effort deflected high and away from danger.
Part of a midfield that was consistently overrun by the opposition; Norwich simply found it far too easy to get through the middle of the park.
It was a similar story for the Australian, who was unable to really stamp his authority on the game.
Freeman drifted in and out of the game. Had a long-range effort that keeper Tim Krul did well to tip over the bar in the second half.
Moved to the right flank, having operated more centrally in midweek, and the QPR youngster found the going a lot tougher. Eze was rarely given the ball in the right areas and his positional sense in defence allowed Cantwell plenty of space against Baptiste. When he moved into the centre in the final 10 minutes, he saw more of the ball and saw a good effort flash wide of goal.
Another who was unable to replicate the highs of midweek; although this wasn’t a bad performance from the R’s frontman. His work-rate was excellent, but he just wasn’t offered a chance by Norwich’s strong defence.
Restored to the starting line-up, but it was a tough evening for Hemed. Chances were at a premium as QPR struggled.
Brought on late as QPR tried to get something out of the game, but he was unable to make a real impression on what was a frantic final quarter of the game.
Much like Osayi-Samuel and Matt Smith, who was also brought in the final moments, Cousins was unable to change the course of the game.
