Transfer gossip: Defender Rasmussen touted for move
Some of the recent transfer speculation involving QPR…
QPR are keen on Fiorentina central defender Jacob Rasmussen, it has been claimed.
Football Insider say the R’s, Norwich and Swansea are battling to sign the Dane.
The website claim that QPR, who currently have a wealth of options in central defence, are “in the market for a centre-back” this summer.
Parrott said to have snubbed QPR move
Tottenham striker Troy Parrott, who has been linked with QPR during successive transfer windows, has joined Preston on a season-long loan.
The Republic of Ireland international was linked with Rangers and a number of other clubs, including Sunderland and Middlesbrough, prior to his move to Deepdale being announced.
That has led to reports that he rejected a move to west London in order to join North End.
Is there anything in it?
QPR are keen to bring in at least one striker this summer and have shown interest in several players. Parrott has not been among them.
Wells linked with return
QPR are keen to take Nahki Wells back to Loftus Road, Bristol Live has reported.
The striker, 32, had two loan spells with the R’s, the second of which was cut short when he was bought by Bristol City in 2020.
He has been unable to hold down a first-team and has been tipped to leave this summer.
Bristol Live say QPR and Swansea want him.
Is there anything in it?
Wells was a popular figure among Rangers fans, many of whom would no doubt be pleased to see him return.
However, Rangers do not want to pay a transfer fee for Wells, given his age, and are currently prioritising other potential targets.
He has a year remaining on his contract at City, who are looking for the maximum fee they can get.
But they would have to accept a nominal fee or let Wells go on a free transfer for there to be any realistic chance of him returning to W12.

Thts OK. Its not everyone who wants to play for a decent team, possibly gain promotion and then like play the best teams in the country. Some just want an easy life.

I think we need to set our sights a bit higher, but then £’s dictate who we can get.
If he arrives, we will be back to looking for his replacement in a season or so time.

Wells was a popular figure at Loftus Road and his (second) loan spell was quite successful. But his goal-scoring record for Bristol City has been poor (although he always scores against us of course) and, at 32, I cannot see him being the kind player Beale would be keen to bring in.
