QPR v Blackburn player ratings
QPR were beaten by Blackburn at Loftus Road, where Jordan Cousins was stretchered off. Here’s how we rated each Rangers player in the 2-1 defeat.
Joe Lumley: 6
Spilled a low shot from Corry Evans for a Rovers corner early on. Managed to get a hand to Danny Graham’s penalty, only for the ball to agonisingly slip into the net to break the deadlock. Had no chance with Blackburn’s second, a deflection off Bradley Dack, following an instinctive save.
Pawel Wszolek: 6
The Pole – moved into a right-back slot – was largely anonymous. Tried to push forward when possible but was often curtailed by hard-working Rovers. No surprise when he was finally replaced in the 73rd minute by Ebere Eze.
Darnell Furlong: 6
Had a particularly tough afternoon, dealing with Rovers’ experienced hit man Graham as well as the impish Dack behind him.
Joel Lynch: 6
Tasked with the job of containing Rovers’ in-form Dack who was moving freely from midfield. The R’s stopper was effective at times but was slow to react in the build up to Blackburn’s second.
Ryan Manning: 6
Tried to link up with Luke Freeman when possible but was kept busy by Adam Armstrong. The Irishman didn’t reach the heights of his brilliant performance in the previous home game, against Swansea, but his delivery improved in the second half.
Massimo Luongo: 5
Booked for a late challenge on Evans which summed up the midfielder’s day. Often outpaced and never really got the opportunity to dictate in his regular manner.
Luke Freeman: 6
Not as influential as his normal standards. Little incision overall from QPR’s noted creator. Found a tough opponent in Darragh Lenihan, but did put in a fine cross for Matt Smith’s late goal.
Josh Scowen: 6
A clumsy challenge by the midfielder on Lewis Travis resulted in Rovers going ahead via Graham’s spot-kick in the 21st minute. Fired a 20-yard shot which was well saved by Blackburn keeper Jayson Leutwiler before raiding on occasion down the right flank. Improved thereafter.
Jordan Cousins: 5
The Rangers midfielder was often a peripheral figure and rather wasteful with a chance which he blazed over the bar, as the hosts attempted to level before the break. Then came his injury, which looked serious.
Bright Osayi-Samuel: 6
Showed good desire to take on the Rovers defence in the first half. Went close with both a curved effort and an angled blast as QPR attempted to quickly get back into the game. Yellow-carded late on for a late lunge at Elliott Bennett.
Tomer Hemed: 6
Allowed Lenihan to elude him to power a header inches wide in the 18th minute as Blackburn took the initiative. Had a frustrating afternoon against Blackburn’s no-nonsense stopper before being replaced by Smith.
Matt Smith: 6
Caretaker boss John Eustace sent on the towering striker for the ineffective Hemed on 63 minutes in an attempt to undo the two-goal damage. Starved of any real and meaningful service until heading home a late consolation goal.
Nahki Wells: 5
Came on five minutes into the second half following the nasty injury to Cousins. Well marked, however, and unable to make any real impact.

I keep replaying the highlights trying to see how that was a penalty – any ideas anyone?
