A look at the stories in Friday's newspapers involving the area's clubs...
Les Ferdinand has ruled himself out of the running to take over as Football Association chairman, according to the Daily Mirror.
QPR’s director of football was linked with the FA role following the resignation of Greg Clarke this week.
The Mirror say FA chiefs see Ferdinand as an ideal candidate but that he remains committed to his job at Rangers.
Former Chelsea defender Paul Elliott is now said to be the favourite to succeed Clarke.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are once again being linked with Jerome Boateng.
The Bayern Munich defender has been touted for a move to Stamford Bridge many times in recent years.
And The Sun have picked up on German publication Bild claiming that Chelsea are among Premier League clubs keen on Boateng.
Arsenal and Tottenham are also said to be interested in signing the Germany international, whose contract is due to expire at the end of the season.
Chelsea also continue to be linked with West Ham’s Declan Rice.
A number of newspapers have picked up on a story by Football Insider claiming that Chelsea are planning to move for Rice in January and are willing to sell players in order to fund the deal.
