Sheffield United boss praises QPR fans
Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has praised QPR fans for applauding Jamal Blackburn off as he was led away on a stretcher during Tuesday’s game at Loftus Road.
Goalkeeper Blackman, on loan at United from Chelsea, dropped a ball into the box, presenting Idrissa Sylla with a simple tap-in and what turned out to be the winning goal.
Blackman fell awkwardly and stayed down for several minutes before being taken off.
Wilder said: “I’ve got to say thanks to the QPR supporters, and obviously ours, for the round of applause they gave our goalkeeper.
“I thought that was a proper gesture from a proper football club. Thanks very much.”
It is not yet known whether the injury Blackman suffered is serious.
“We’ll have to wait and see. Obviously it wasn’t good,” Wilder said.
“It looked a really awkward fall and we’ll have to wait for the diagnosis.”
