Norwich v QPR player ratings

QPR ended a miserable season with another defeat. Here’s how we rated each Rangers player in the 4-0 loss at Norwich.

Alex Smithies: 7

QPR’s player of the season produced another strong display. Called to action in just the second minute, Smithies made an excellent save from Josh Murphy and was busy thereafter, but he had no chance with Norwich’s goals.

James Perch: 6

Unable to contain Murphy in the first half hour, but fared much better as the game went on.

Joel Lynch: 6

Was kept busy throughout. Saved Rangers with a clearance off the line early on.

Nedum Onuoha: 6

Was rarely threatened by Norwich’s ploy of playing one up front, but was beaten by Murphy in the build up to the third goal.

Jack Robinson: 6

Solid enough at the back before being replaced in the second half.

Massimo Luongo: 6

Comfortable on the ball, but the Australian struggled in an inexperienced midfield against a side that attacked from all angles.

Ryan Manning: 6

It was a similar story for Manning, who operated in a variety of roles throughout the game, finishing at left-back.

Michael Doughty: 5

A tough game on only his second start since January. Deployed as the deeper of the midfield men, Doughty struggled to provide a screen for his back four.

Pawel Wszolek: 6

Clipped a fine left-footed effort at goal towards the end of the first half, only to be denied by a stunning save from John Ruddy. But that was the only real action from the Pole.

Conor Washington: 6

Full of running and endeavour, but it was a frustrating afternoon for the striker.

Matt Smith: 6

Won a few headers at the back before being taken off at half-time.

Luke Freeman: 7

A lively second-half performance from the substitute, who curled a 25 yard free kick narrowly wide and brought a good save from Ruddy with a low strike.

Josh Bowler: 6

Handed a debut with 20 minutes to go and the youngster, who only signed his first professional contract in February, showed some nice touches.

  • what I can't understand is how our players received marks of 6 or better
    and we lost 4-0.
