QPR’s woeful run continued as they slumped to a seventh consecutive Championship defeat. Here’s how we rated each Rangers player in the 2-0 loss at Middlesbrough.
Disappointingly beaten at his near post for the second goal. Make amends somewhat by twice producing saves to deny Britt Assombalonga.
Struggled to cope with the threat on his flank, where Middlesbrough had plenty of success. Was a threat himself going forward, though, including from set-pieces and when laying on a chance for Tomer Hemed.
Had a decent game despite Rangers’ overall defensive weakness. Used the ball well and one brilliant piece of control to effortlessly take down a high ball was a highlight.
Poor. The German giving the ball away almost led to a third Boro goal and he was unconvincing throughout.
Like Furlong, had more joy going forward than defending. Delivered a couple of decent balls into the box but Rangers’ left side missed the injured Luke Freeman.
Struggled in the first half but was QPR’s most effective player in the second, regularly getting in behind the home defence and looking like he might create something. Laid one ball across the face of the goal but there was no finishing touch.
Competed well in midfield but did have a poor spell during the first half when Boro were able to get on top.
Substituted at half-time after a showing that will have done his case for a regular place no good at all. A weak link defensively but was involved in some promising early moments, heading down for Ebere Eze and delivering a couple of useful crosses.

Won some challenges and caught the eye with some forward bursts but was too often missing when Rangers were being overrun in midfield.
Showed his skill during the first half, when he outfoxed Boro defenders on a number of occasions. Had a shot saved and always looked lively, but it was to no avail.
Totally anonymous before being unable to take two second-half chances. He headed tamely at keeper Darren Randolph and was unable to add the decisive touch at the far post when set up by Furlong.
Sent on in place of Manning, the young winger did make an impact. He worried Boro with his pace and fired a shot wide.
Offered an aerial presence after coming on but Boro dealt with it. Nahki Wells, meanwhile, had even less time to make an impact.
