QPR were punished for their shoddy defending and Nedum Onuoha was sent off on a woeful day for Ian Holloway’s side at Hull. Here’s how we rated each Rangers player in the 4-0 defeat.
A miserable afternoon for the Rangers keeper, the low point of which saw him score a freak own goal when the ball hit the bar and bounced off him and into the net. Left exposed so often and produced a couple of decent saves to keep the score down.
Did OK at right-back. Got forward on occasions and combined nicely with Luke Freeman to set up a chance for Massimo Luongo.
Angered the home fans with a robust first-half challenge. Won plenty of others before being red-carded in injury time.
On for Joel Lynch, who went off injured after 15 minutes, Robinson almost caught out Smithies with a wayward back-pass and in general he looked sluggish following a recent injury. He did, however, produce a terrific late block to prevent a fifth Hull goal.
Did the basics well enough without imposing himself at either end of the pitch. Got forward often during a bright period for Rangers early in the second half.
Worked hard but was unable to make much of an impression in midfield before being sacrificed at half-time when Idrissa Sylla was sent on.
Had an uncharacteristically poor game and was criticised by boss Ian Holloway for a late challenge which led to Onuoha’s dismissal.
Also struggled in the middle of the park, where the home side had the upper hand for most of the game. Luongo did go close with a first-half shot just before Hull’s second goal.
A frustrating day for the Pole, who had no joy at all on the flank before being taken off in the second half.
Another of Rangers’ midfielders who had an off day. His passing was poor at times and he was well below par apart from a decent spell early in the second half, when he did look a threat.
Inevitably struggled up front on his own. Was helped by the extra support when Sylla came on and had a shot deflected wide, but it was a frustrating afternoon for the youngster.
Not a major threat to the Hull defence when he was introduced for the second half, but the extra presence up front in itself gave Rangers some much-needed impetus and they were having a decent spell before Hull’s third goal ended any real chance of a comeback.
Keen, but unable to make any impact after being brought on midway through the second half with the game well and truly lost.
