Furlong faces spell out with knee injury

Darnell Furlong is set to miss QPR’s pre-season trip to Germany because of a knee problem.

Assistant manager John Eustace was quick to play down the significance of the injury after Furlong went off early in the second half of Saturday’s friendly at AFC Wimbledon.

“He’s just picked up a knock. I don’t think it’s anything serious,” said Eustace.

“We took him off just to look after him. We’re delighted with him.”

However, the injury is now causing concern and Furlong faces a spell on the sidelines.

The defender, 22, missed almost three months of last season with a knee problem.
